A puppet-y Indie Rock Spectacular for Kids.
Princess Elleanora and the Muddy Sneakers is the first tv pilot I ever wrote, inspired by my actor survival job as a performer at kid’s birthday parties. Think of it as The Muppets meets Flight of the Conchords. (I wrote it in 2009, okay?!) Princess Elleanora is a bass-playing princess in the mythical port city of Rockabay, trying to make it with her indie band of misfits including her bestie Rosalind (tap dancing percussion) her brother Price Allister (guitar), and puppet creatures Justine the Unicorn (keyboard,) King the Lion (drums,) and Dragoon, the depressed vegetarian dragon (accordion… yes, accordion).
This EP of songs from the series was recorded and produced at Fluid Studios by Michael Maloney, who also played all instruments. I wrote every song, and sang lead vocals. Additional talent includes Katie Rayle (vocals, tap), Thom Woodley (vocals, piano solo in I Choose Joy), Jonathan Silver (vocals), and Mallory Portnoy (vocals).
This project will always be close to my heart, and is the namesake for my production company, Rockabay Productions.
