Logline: After IVF drains their savings, a desperate sister turns to her brother for a sperm donation in a Hail Mary attempt to impregnate her wife.

Donor is a cringe comedy about family, desperation, and infertility written/produced by and starring Thea Lux. When Thea sent me an early draft of the script, I connected with it immediately. Sure, it was about a sister waiting for her brother to orgasm (ew,) but I was drawn to the complexity of their relationship, and the way it got to the heart of the desperation that can accompany infertility. I was also excited about the process. Like me, Thea and her costar Michael Lee Joplin come from a theater and improv background, so we workshopped the script through several rehearsals - a luxury you rarely get when directing films. We’ve just begun submitting to festivals, and look forward to premiering this summer. A password protected screener is available on request.
